Soul Motion is embodied welcome, homecoming to creative currents that run through each of us
In the Performance Hall at the Canadian College of Performing Arts, 1701 Elgin Street, Victoria
Vitality at the Heart of the Dance
We arrive with music, and a time to warm up the body, followed by a flow of somatic movement inquiries to explore and expand our movement possibilities. We’ll then dive into a movement passage together, bring the inquiry along with us in our own ways, through a mixture of solitudes, dyads, triads, and community scores.
Spacious and focused, daring and relaxing. Relaxed time for arriving and landing in together, spacious time for practice and voyaging. Currents of movement rippling through the room like wind through the trees.
There is no previous experience necessary. There are no steps to learn; this class rests into the creative life force that flows within all living beings, and students will be well-supported to explore.
Come be you as you are, in motion and stillness, in a welcoming group of beings.
We dance on a soft-on-the-body-marley dance floor - which means that only bare feet or soft-soled indoor dance shoes can be worn on the dance floor.
Dress in layers; bring water, a snack, and a journal.

“I saw your movement teaching video about PENDULUM AND PULSATION. My story has many branches as everyone's: I am 62. Long story short, this video described me perfectly - in hiding since 2006. I used to dance. I watched your video three times then finally pushed back chairs and cleared the floor. My new friend had been trying to get me to dance again but I still felt like a frozen block. As soon as i saw your legs fly up I stood up and started to move.. 'I am just going to move.. no promises just move.....and move i did.' I must thank you so so very much! Yes!

I wanted to reach out and let you know how grateful I feel to have attended your workshop…. I have been a dancer for many years searching for the words to explain to others how therapeutic movement is and have had such a desire to bring these healing elements into the field and am so thankful to have learned more ways to explain these things from you. You completely expanded my horizon and I learned so much from our time together that I am still trying to process it all! …It truly makes my heart so warm to know that there are people like you in the field doing the work you do.…Thank you again for inspiring me with your openness and sharing your knowledge.
