An invitation to join us in ‘the green room’ — the space of preparation and practice — to ‘see behind the curtain’ and deepen your understanding of Soul Motion, mysticism and fields of movement.
Through word, attention inquiry, and body experience, we will gather to explore the ground works of this lineage.
Open to all dancing beings, folks new to Soul Motion, long time practitioners, and teachers of the work.
Our Team
Katriona Ilsedóttir Curry (she/they)
Katriona is a Senior Certified Soul Motion teacher, Certified Sensorimotor Psychotherapist, also trained in Hakomi, Dance Movement Therapy, and Movement-Based Expressive Arts. A Registered Clinical Counselor in BC, Registered Canadian Couple and Family Therapist, and Registered Canadian Art Therapist, Katriona weaves 27 years of training and ongoing clinical practice in psychology and psychotherapy into her Soul Motion teaching. A Mama of twins, Katriona delights in a playful, nurturing, and ecosomatic approach to teaching and learning.
Katriona trained in the pilot program of the Soul Motion Teacher Training Program, 2007-2009, and accompanied and collaborated with Soul Motion founder Vincent Martinez Grieco for many years, internationally, as an assistant, apprentice, and as Staff in the original Soul Motion School. Katriona co-created the Soul Motion Embodied Leadership Program with Aletia Anna Alvarez, which is the foundational year of professional training for Soul Motion teachers and leaders to this day. Katriona is the founder of The School of Play.
Devorah (dev) Bry (she/her)
Rev Dev is a Senior Certified Soul Motion Teacher, Hakomi Therapist, Ordained Minister, and Mama. Trained in the second cohort of the Soul Motion Teacher Training Program 2010-2012, Dev has traveled deeply with the work, assisting in several Soul Motion trainings, and collaborating with founder Vincent Martínez-Grieco over the years. They most recently co-facilitating Dancing (with) Impermanence together on the east coast of the US. Dev lives near Portland Maine, where she hosts her somatic couples’ counseling practice, offers Soul Motion classes and workshops, and tends her bees. Dev is the Founder of HoneyRoot, an intergenerational community and non-profit dedicated to ground, body, relationship, group ritual and the healing potential of movement. Dev is collaborating Faculty in the School of Play.
Katriona is delighted and filled with joy to be collaborating with Dev, a practitioner of great depth, wisdom, and improvisational creativity.
